Berry Burst Muffins

March 21, 2018 Mathew Pemberton

Wholesome cakey goodness.

Blueberries and bananas make foolproof muffins that are wolfed down by children and adults alike.

One of the things I like most about this recipe is I’ve never messed it up (I’m not much of a baker you see).

Monte Cristo

November 22, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

To the library.

I’ve no idea if this originated on the island of Montechristo or if it appears the literary classic that shares the same name, but it’s bloody good.

Beefy empanadas

November 4, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

Glutton without prejudice.

Minced beef crispy pancakes, remember them? Yeah me too. They were one of my pikey penchants during my teenage years, glutton without prejudice that I was.

Harissa chicken meatballs

August 21, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

Ibizan delights.

I’ve been in a bit of a recipe rut of late, but our recent family holiday to the beautiful white island has proven a new source of food inspiration. Ibizan food it seems is having a moment in the sun, scuse the pun.

Beef bo kho

March 2, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

A sexed up stew.

As the cold snap continues it seems only right that I continue with some not so cold snap. See what I did there? Sorry, it’s the chill, it’s getting to me.

Beer braised short ribs

February 23, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

Bigger, bolder, beefier.

Beef cooked on the bone always tastes better — it’s bigger, bolder and well, er, beefier. Shame it’s usually super pricey.

Dhal soup and prawn skewers

February 22, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

A souper New Year.

For the third issue of Superfood Magazine I was asked to come up with six soup recipes, dishes to warm your wintery cockles and that put a spring in your step, and this was one I just had to include.

Mushroom risotto soup

January 15, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

No longer a labour of love.

I do love a risotto, but all that stirring? It’s enough to drive a girl mad. The good news is you can make a rich risotto without having to slave over the hob — because with this recipe the oven does all the work.

Beetroot cured salmon

January 15, 2016 Hannah Pemberton

Party perfection.

Yes, that season is almost upon us. It’ll soon be time to get out the cocktail sticks and spear all manner of pastry goods, deep fry little parcels of deliciousness and make merry with cocktails, fizz and mulled wine.

Mini millionaire shortbreads

November 7, 2015 Hannah Pemberton

One for the road.

I think this might be my last proper recipe post and picture for a little while. Today I’m 40 weeks pregnant and as much as I’d like to think I’ll be able to have babyfruit in one arm and a wooden spoon/camera in another, I think it might take me a while to build up to that level of multitasking.

Coconut sandwich cookies

November 1, 2015 Hannah Pemberton

A delicious detour.

It turns out that pregnancy isn’t something that can be controlled. Sure, you can steer things in the direction you want them to go, but ultimately, it’s going to go how it’s going to go.

Raspberry and coconut cake

October 5, 2015 Hannah Pemberton

Love you long time.

Laksa, tom kha soup and the piña colada are just a few of my favourite coconutty things, and now the coconut is having its moment in fashion I get to scoff it in all manner of stuff from snack bars to juices, which pleases me no end.

Cold brew iced coffee

September 26, 2015 Hannah Pemberton

This is the shizzle.

‘Cold brew’. I know I know, it sounds a bit hip. Which is probably why I’ve noticed a thing for swigging cold brew coffee straight out of brown glass bottles in the morning round Shoreditch.

Fragrant stir fried lamb

May 31, 2015 Hannah Pemberton

New ways with lamb.

I’m fairly new to cooking lamb Chinese style at home. Beef and chicken are my go-to meats of choice for stir fries, but lamb makes a tasty change, especially with white pepper and fresh coriander root.
